The Notebook of Beginnings is an exhibition in the Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya (COAC) in Barcelona, featuring 21 projects by architect Mario Corea. The exhibition is a walk-through of Corea’s professional practice highlighting the five architects who have most influenced his development: Frank Lloyd Wright, Josep Lluís Sert, Louis Kahn, Fumihiko Maki and Mies van der Rohe. The title refers to an unfinished notebook filled with sketches and writings that Corea started in 1986.The visitors to the exhibition have the opportunity to make their own notebook with drawings and texts about the works on display as well as the words of these five architects who have shaped Mario Corea’s life and career.
Mario Corea, along with Franc Fernández, Carles Llop, Albert Pineda and Manuel Ruisánchez, will participate in a panel discussion moderated by Toni Casamor entitled Between Friends: Conversations about Architecture in the framework of the exhibition The Notebook of Beginnings: Mario Corea. The director of the Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya (COAC), Lluís Comerón, will give the closing remarks. The exhibition can be visited until June 2 in the Espai Picasso of the COAC.
